This toll is a great idea. But in this version MAC addresses are come up very often as UNKNOWN. The problem wasnt there in the older versions. I think the main problem is that this scanner crashes sometimes and even not it needs about 120% of CPU Power to run. Other scanners only need a few % of CPU.
you have about 45 secs until it crashes, a little bit more if you dont use it.
Must have network tool
Have been using the application for quite some time and for the most, part, have been very pleased. However this current version (v3.50.6) continually crashes when I try to start the app. Eagerly awaiting fix or next update
3.50.6 is not working. Till now it was ok. Do NOT update 15 Sep 2016
This is the way software should be developed!
I think this app is great... it becomes fundamental if you need to check a new network where people do not know the IPs of their devices!
This is a wonderful program and worth the price. There are some freebies that do the same thing, but I had issues with them; silly UI things like opening their window off the screen. As an IT Pro it’s absoultely indespensible. I’ve had no issues, it can run port scans on a device to see what’s open and responding, you can issue WoL commands to a device, open in a browser/VNC; just all sorts of handy tools if you find yourself working with DHCP clients or scouting client networks.
Crashes immediately
Crashes immediately. Older version worked. Wish there was a way to downgrade back to the old version. Used this app regularly, now it’s useless.
App crashes upon opening. Deleting and re-loading app did not work. Interesting that the latest update on Setember 15, 2016 did not include compatibility with OS Sierra. I hope they don’t ask customers to cough up more dough for an upgraded version compatible with OS Sierra. :o(
Great to see this working again. Thank you!
I used to love this program, but as of late I have to say I hate it. It used to work just fine and now everytime you open it, it just crashes. I am on a Layer 3 network, and this was never an issue before. I am now running the lastest version, and it is still an issue. iMac (27-inch, Late 2013) 3.2 GHz Intel Core i5, 8GB RAM, Fusion Drive OS X El Capitan 10.11.6
Some notifications are not displaying correctly (“Device Timeouts.) Please fix. The software is great for monitoring how many machines are on your network. I will update my review as soon as they fix the notifications.
The app mostly does a good job of showing you whats on your network. It doe NOT do a good job with network with mobile devices such as laptops, ipads, iphones, etc. When devices leave a network and come back, they sometimes come back with new IP addresses and this app does not handle that well, and suddenly it confuses devices because it relies soley on the IP address to determine if a device is active. IT should use the IP Address combined with the MAC address to determine a unique machine. The only way to correct this problem is to Clear the table so it can re-learn everything, and you loose all your history.
I have been using this application since the beginning, started with the free version and soon upgraded to the PRO version. Improvements over time have been exceeding my expectations.
This is a very stable and useful application. It does a great job of probing throughout my network and finds the IP addresses and the MAC addresses of every device. One of the coolest features is called a "whitelist". The Whitelist is where I can keep my own list of known, approved devices. Then, the next time I do a network probe I will see all of my whitelisted devices lightly greyed out. New devices will show up as BOLD. This feature makes it really easy to find new devices that have found their way onto the network. One of my favorite features is how the application shows an icon for each operating system type. I can see Mac OS machines and Windows OS machines because they have unique icons. When I travel with my laptop and I am in a hotel or an airport lounge I find it interesting to probe the local network to see how many devices are right next to me. This application reminds us how important it is to keep our firewalls active and not to trust a network.
After a few minutes of being open, crashes and must be reopened. No ability to address networks in CIDR notation. Not terribly functional, beyond doing what it says; showing a list of devices on the network. Feels like as much time was spent making it pretty as was adding functionality. Hoping it gets better, but at this point, its good for one scan, then I just wait for it to kill itself.
Great app for quickly troubleshooting network problems. The ability to add a unique name for devices like smartphones makes it easy to get an idea of whats happening on the network at a glance.
