IP Scanner Ultra App Reviews

Warning! No Support for Product!

This product claims there is Growl support. However, I have Growl 2.0.1 and it does not work. I patiently emailed support for this product. I send out two emails and I told support that if I cant get any answer from them, I will file a negative review. I really dont recommend getting this product with no support at all. With the price of this app, there should be excellent support!

Good Useful Tool

For local networks it is very valuable, but for WANs, it gives the IP, but not the name or some specification of the name of the computer or Mac.

Perfect app for IT Infrastructre Manager or any tech

This app always comes in handy. It should be in any techs toolbox because its nothing like instantly having updated network info at your fingertips

Perfect.

Fast, easy, clean, and does exactly what its supposed to. Awesome purchase for an IT professional. iPhone and iPad versions are great too.

Unconfigurable

The latest version of this software is quite “buggy” and am unable to get it to properly read my network. The help forums are not helpful at all, and all contact with the support site seems to be cut off. Not what I expected for “Award Winning” software.

Why is it crashing all the time?

it is the most unstable application ever!!! I did not see a kernel panic since forever, until I’ve installed IP Scanner Pro yesterday. It crashes at least 4-5 times before it finally starts, then it works until I touch anything; then crash boom bang again!!! I will try it for another week and if it will not stop to be unusable like this, I will be asking for my money back. This app is defintely not worth 30 bucks as is. I have nothing special with my hardware or software. Top of the line MBP 15 Retina with 10.9.1 running on it.

Incredibly valuable and timesaving tool for me

I use IP Scanner Pro to monitor the devices on my network, facilitate access by my devices and to easily enhance the security . My router is an Apple Time Capsule and it has the capability of reserving each IP address for a specific device and to keep out all others even if my WiFi password is hacked. IP scanner Pro displays the MAC (Media Access Control) address for new devices which i can copy/paste into the router table. I was surprised at how many IP devices I have and how helpful IP Scanner Pro is in keeping track of it all.

First run on simple network froze it

I just purchased the app, installed it, and ran it. It froze after mapping the network. None of controls responded.

Total waste of $30.

Manage network segments doesn’t function. Include non-local devices doesn’t have any effect. All devices are scanned in all connected subnets regardless of settings. The lite version worked better. Total waste of $30. I would really like to have my money back.

Great IP Address Utility

I use IP Scanner Pro on a regular basis. When I install a new IP Camera, instead of installing the camera software to scan for new cameras, I use IP Scanner Pro to locate the DHCP IP Address assigned to the camera and configure through the web browser.

Very Easy Yet Powerful Tool

I use this tool every time I am looking for devices that I don’t know their IP addresses. IP Scanner pro easily identifies these devices by manufacturer via mac address lookups. Every network/systems admin that use Mac OS X needs to have IP Scanner Pro.

Responsive developer and helpful app

I started using this app as one of three different approaches to getting a picture of my network. IP Scanner Pro is the one that I’ve continued using over the past 18 months. Gives me all the tools I need to know which devices are connecting where.

I use this all the time

I have a network of imacs, ipads, server, etc. from my home office, and home school, with VPNs, switches, POE ip cameras, etc.. IP Scanner Pro is by far the easiest and most UI friendly way Ive found ever so far to manage the devices on my network and easily access them via VNC, browser, etc. managing and being able to name all the devices to access quickly in our busy lives. Weve never had issues with this software, yes it could use a little more advanced tools for networking purposes, but this has been a jewel in my networking tools and I use it almost every single day.

great tool

I have to do LAN diagnostics occasionally, IP scanner has done everything I need - the network scan which I use the most works flawlessly, having the other utilites built in (ping, tracetoute, etc) as well as the ability to get device details is great. Nice to have a software tool that just works

Quits constantly

Can’t get the app to start up at all! Too bad, used to be good.

This one really works

Excellent app. I’ve tried other network scanners but this is the only one that really delivers

Exactly What I Needed

IP Scanner does exactly what it says: scans your network and returns valuable information (far beyond just IP addresses) of the devices connected thereto. I love it. It’s quick, simple, intitive, etc… Couldn’t be more please!

SOHO folks, this is the best EVER...

I own a small professional services business (no, not an escort service … geesh!) and have done most of my own network and hardware and software configuration. I haven’t always kept meticulous records of what device is where (or whether it is still there …). IP Scanner Pro has cured that self-inflicted wound. I can find out what is running, name it, and troubleshoot everything from bandwidth hogs to WiFi channel conflicts. I’ve had several other products, some costing multiples of IP Scanner Pro, and nothing works this well for a non-professional but experience amateur IT manager.

Good but should do more...

I’m a former network engineer and find this tool useful for monitoring the status of my extensive home network. I like the ability to launch the management tools from the IP Scan Console. The ability to ping various network components is nice, but you should be able to specify the ping duration and store or print the results. After I bought this tool, I later purchased Network Admin Pro for $30 more. It provides the ping capability but also automates the process and captures reports in graffic form. This tool also has a mapping function with status dashboard capability. The bottom line - IP Scanner Pro is a useful tool, but for $30 more, Network Admin Pro is a better choice.

I really like this tool.

Have more than 600 IP’s on 6 sub-nets, comes in very handy. Scans very quickly, and I love the reports
