It is a good tool
Useful for auditing a new or existing environment to verify what you expect to be on the network. It does a decent job of determining the type of device by looking up the manufacturer via the MAC address. The reporting options are decent. I like that it can automatically dump the scan into a csv file at regular intervals.
Some things I would like to see changed 1) App scanns blocks of 254 addresses even if the network subnet you are on is larger. It should pick up on the subnet of the network you are attached to and scan the whole thing. Adding, and later removing, customer network segments in order to scan a large subnet is cumbersome. 2) Would love to be able to automatically run a scan of a few pre-selected ports of each host during the ping sweep. 3) Speaking LLDP or CDP would be great (ex highlighting a switch and being able to see a list of remote neighbors).
It is a good tool, albeit basic, with potential to be a killer app.
